In June I was lucky enough to find free studio space at a huge welding factory in Queens, Maspeth Welding Arts. Maspeth Welding has an artists’ outreach program and generously gave me the opportunity to dig deep and reconnect with my craft.
I spent the much of the summer having fun there, challenging myself with a singular goal in mind:
Create single, statement earrings based on the work of some of my favorite 20th century artists.
The resulting pieces are for sale for a limited time, with 100% of the purchase price being donated to two prominent and deserving NYC institutions:
The Frank Sinatra School of the Arts - a public high school in Queens that allows the opportunity for all students to achiever their fullest academic and artists potential. This school has been hit hard by budget cuts due the crisis in NYC.
Xavier Mission - an incredible organization that provides basic services and opportunities for empowerment and self-sufficiency to New Yorkers in need.
Special requests are welcome for other artists! All earrings can be made as pendants.
